New European Health Insurance Information

From 1st January 2006, UK residents travelling in Europe will require a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). This will allow you to benefit from free or reduced-cost medical care when travelling in an EEA country or Switzerland.

The EHIC replaces the E111 and is free of charge. For further information on the introduction of the EHIC and on how to apply for an EHIC, visit www.dh.gov.uk/travellers

Flybe announces fair deal on baggage

Flybe has increased it's hold baggage allowance to 25kg per person, some 10kg more than Ryanair.
To accommodate this increase in capacity Flybe has decided to charge it's customers for putting their bags in the hold. This costs £2 per bag per each way flight. Simply book in your baggage and pay for it at the time of booking and the cost will be added to the overall price of your flights. If you choose to book your hold baggage in at check in, the cost will be £4 per bag per each way flight.

In addition to this, Flybe has increased carry on luggage allowance to 10kg per person in one bag only. For more information, go to www.flybe.com

Montpellier Christmas market opens on Dec 10th

Montpellier's annual Christmas market will open on December 10th and run through until Christmas Eve.
Situated on the "Place de la Comedie" in the centre of Montpellier, this annual event is a great place to visit if you're in the area. There will be stalls selling a variety of locally produced foods, wines and craft goods, as well as music and Christmas trees.

Nimes to host Flamenco festival

Between the 25th and 30th of January, the city of Nîmes will host the fifteenth edition of the Festival Flamenco du Théâtre de Nîmes. The city's main theatre, the Odeón, will be the most important stage of this flamenco event that has already become traditional.

IKEA Opens new store in Montpellier !!!

The well known Sweedish chain, Ikea, has just this week opened the doors to it's new store in Montpellier.

Located just off junction 29 of the A9 motorway, the store is open Monday - Saturday, 10h - 21h

You can reach the store using Montpellier's tram. Take line 1 and get off at the "Odysseum" stop.
